As per Campbell’s analysis, the hero is someone naturally special, singled out in some manner amongst his peers. Born of an African father and white mother, Obama’s mixed heritage has marked him out freelance writing where to start freelance writing positions in India freelance writing work as a ‘special’ person right from the start. Furthermore, a characteristic of the Campbellian hero is that he is often cast aside by his family as in the story of Moses. This is an archetype Obama fits very well: he was abandoned, only two years old, by his Kenyan father Barack Obama Sr, whom he met only once more in his lifetime. This has had a major impact on him, according to his best-selling autobiography Dreams from My Father (9).

This may seem unrelated at first, but when I’ve read books and articles about both physical and mental health, including reducing stress, I’ve repeatedly seen the counsel to avoid exposure to the news. One author says to get into the natural rhythm of the day by not turning on the radio or TV for the first few hours. Some say to avoid TV altogether, regardless of the content. One man I know won’t watch news because he says it’s depressing. Mostly I find it disgusting and boring.
One guy I like is Brian Wilson. I admire him a lot, and] he has used banjo is some of his productions over the years as part of his artistic palette. His melodic sense and sonic textures make for some amazingly soulful music. I’d also love to do something with [famed jazz vibraphonist] Gary Burton. That said, wine is where we started and will remain a fundamental part of what we do. There’s a thousand words in a sip of the stuff, a craft of flavor, a complexity to the taste. Thematically, it connects with storytelling in such a profound way. Then, of course, there’s the simple truth that when a person gets drinking, their stories start flowing. Maybe because the intoxication from wine is a slower, smoother ride than four shots of tequila? It’s important to us that our audience is listening to and experiencing the stories, and that’s a difficult business when you’ve had (ahem) a few too many. That said, we craft the stories we tell later in the evening (i.e. after our audience has enjoyed the first few wines of the flight) to grab and hold a raucous crowd.
Although, there are several important methods of honing in on God’s still small voice, the intent here is not to limit God. There are many other ways God speaks to us. He communicates to us in our circumstances; by influencing our own feelings, thoughts, and behaviors – even our characters; or He moves in still more mysterious ways – through a “gut” instinct. He can even speak to us through His creation. But be reminded, we trust in God – the living, eternal Lord of the universe – not in our circumstances, our emotions, or our gut. His voice, though not audible for the most part, is real and available to all who believe in His name, and it’s there for all those who will listen.
